Lichfield Arts launches a new, all-inclusive music-making project, making its debut at this year’s Fuse. ‘Lichfield Arts Introducing‘ participants will take over the Imaginarium: playing live (whether as a band or solo musicians), MCing, operating the PA and lights and managing the stage, with professionals providing guidance and support throughout.
Saturday 14th July Daytime
Skilly Skillz is an Artistic Human Percussionist (human beatboxer) who has performed to thousands of people all over the United Kingdom – including to HM The Queen at the Diamond Jubilee! He will be running two workshops for Fuse, designed to encourage young people to challenge themselves on learning new skills with vocal music. You will learn at least basic percussive sounds progressing to extra sound fx such as Lip Rolls, Bass Lines, Vocal Scratching Techniques and much more. Skilly will also be performing on our Momentum stage during the afternoon. Come and give it a go!
Bollywood Dance Workshop
A fun one hour workshop to learn the basics of this infectious style of Asian dance. Bollywood Dreams is a West Midlands dance academy specialising in Bollywood Dance running classes across the West Midlands for all ages and abilities as well as educational workshops for schools, colleges. Bollywood Dreams also has a professional dance troupe who have performed at prestigious locations around the UK. Bring something sparkly and swirly to wear!
Poetry with the Staffordshire Poet Laureate
Emily Rose Galvin is delighted to be hosting two one-hour sessions within our Imaginarium tent. On the Saturday, a showcase of the spellbinding poetry talent that the Midlands has to offer – there is sure to be something for poetry lovers and first-time writers alike. Then Sunday sees Emily running a family-friendly workshop encouraging creativity and expression in younger generations. There’s a ‘poetry wall’ too, to add your creations to throughout the weekend.
Lichfield Community Drum Circle Workshop
We welcome the lovely Good Vibes group to Fuse! Fun and high energy, the drum circle is a sure fire way to get everyone playing together in no time, even those who have never touched a drum before! Come and have a bash (geddit?!)!
We’ve all wanted to know how to perform a simple magic trick but with the wow factor haven’t we? Well, now’s your chance. Magician Damon Conlan has agreed to share a few of his secrets with us….but don’t tell everyone! Workshops on Saturday and Sunday.
If you’re a local busker/artist and would like to perform at Fuse, check out the designated time slots in advance on our ‘At A Glance’ page and come on down to the ‘Busk Stop’ within The Imaginarium! Just stop by with a collecting hat/bucket/pot if you so wish and give our visitors a treat with your impromptu performance. Form an orderly queue!
Saturday 14th July Evening: DJ Thumpa
Thumpa, hailing from Lichfield, is a busy hardcore & old skool DJ who has played all over the world in Japan, USA, Canada, The Netherlands, Germany and in every corner of the UK. Regularly DJ’ing at massive hardcore parties throughout the country including Wesfest (the biggest indoor rave in the UK) and countless others, Thumpa will be dropping some classic old skool, jungle and rave anthems on Saturday night. Get your raving shoes on!
Sunday 15th July
Join the Yoga Collective for free yoga in the park – 11.00 am. Bring your mat, a bottle of water and get your yoga on! A great way to start your day. Out in the open if the weather permits!

Lindy Hop Dance Workshop
We are delighted to show you how to dance the fantastic Lindy Hop at Fuse! Lindy Hop is an American dance which was born in Harlem, New York City in 1928 and has evolved, with the jazz music of that time. A great way of keeping fit! Flat shoes recommended.
The Redemption Brothers
The Redemption Brothers will entertain you using homemade ‘diddley bows’, banjo, harmonica, bass and cajon to ‘countrify’ well-known indie, pop and rock classics and blend in some lively folk and blues covers too. Those of you who have made your own instruments with Grey Goat Guitars may even have the opportunity to join in at the end!
There will be opportunities on Sunday for local buskers/artists to entertain the audience with your impromptu performance. Check out the designated time slots on our ‘At A Glance’ page and just turn up and form an orderly queue!
