In The Festival Arena

As well as the fantastic music line-up, arts & crafting, bouncy castles and games, the workshops and performances in The Imaginarium, the food traders and Festival Market there will be lots of other activities and performances for all the family to enjoy at Fuse. Here’s what is booked so far!

Mark Fraser – Storyteller and entertainer extraordinaire!

Enter the world of dragons, fairies, wizards, pirates and giants! Acclaimed storyteller Mark Fraser will be bringing his books to life with puppetry, masks and performance in the story tent. Watch out for the dragon egg hunt and come along to help write a story especially for Fuse! As night falls, look out for the character ‘Jacob Cracker’ for his Spooky Stories session. Suitable for ages 1 – 101 ish. Remember “Tomorrow is always another story.”

The Lichfield Fitness Community

On one of the sportiest weekends of the year (World Cup Final and Wimbledon Tennis Finals), the gang from the Lichfield Fitness Community will be running activities with a theme of “Fitter Families” with an all-inclusive attitude.
No matter what the barriers are, physical or mental, there will be a variety of workshops and activities for people to take part in. Penalty shootouts, seated volleyball, basketball…and maybe even blind football! Check out their activity board each day.

Combining sleight of hand and comedy to delight, Jocular Prestidigitator Damon Conlan will be working across the festival to bring memorable, mirthful and miraculous close up magic, including workshops for you to learn some of his tricks! Catch him if you can across the festival site all weekend.

Arts & Crafts

There are various arts and craft activities to join in with over the weekend. Take a peek in our Arts Tent; the Wade Street Church tent, and say hello to the Jack & Jills Preschool ladies who are running a craft activity on Saturday.

If you’re a local busker/artist and would like to perform at Fuse, look out for free slots at our ‘Busk Stop’ within The Imaginarium! Just stop by with your acoustic instrument and a collecting hat/bucket/pot and give the passers by a treat with your impromptu performance. Form an orderly queue!

Grey Goat Guitars – “Pizzalele”(Ukulele) and Dulcimer Making Workshops

“ElGordeaux” (aka Gordon!) of Grey Goat Guitars – maker of unique 3 string cigar box guitars and ukuleles –  will be running a workshop on both Saturday (3pm) and Sunday (12.30), from his stall in the Festival Market area, to build one string dulcimers from tuna tins and ukuleles from pizza boxes “The Pizzalele”! Book your slot when you arrive at the festival. Ten places each day. They sound great too – take a look at the video! You can even take part in a jam session on Sunday afternoon in the Imaginarium tent if you are up for it. Gordon will tell you more.

Fusion Dance Academy

Fusion are regular performers at Fuse, showcasing a wide range of dance styles. They specialise in street dance but offer a full range of classes and workshops: Lyrical Gymnastics, Contemporary, Ladies Street, BreakDance, Lyrical, Heels Technique, and Musical Theatre. They are celebrating their 10th birthday this year – come and watch Team Fusion in action on Saturday afternoon.

NCT Baby Change and Feeding Facilities

The National Childbirth Trust will be with us providing baby changing facilities (and potties!) and a comfortable baby feeding area.

The Lichfield Repair Cafe

Come along for a chat with some of the volunteers from this fledgling group to find out more about the Lichfield Repair Cafe idea and plans for the coming months. Do you have skills you can offer, to help others repair and reuse?  Get crafty on Saturday and Sunday with the Crafty Villagers who will be sharing their fabulous reusing/recycling skills and turning t-shirts into handy little bags!
