In their 40th Anniversary year, the Lichfield Festival will be hosting their “Day of Dance”. Join professional Dance Artists and enjoy workshops in a variety of styles in an inclusive environment, suitable for ALL ages and abilities. 

12pm: Priya Sundar will be hosting Dhandiya/ kolattam folk dance from India. Simple, rhythmic dance moves forming a stunning dance routine that are suitable for everyone no matter what your dance experience. 

1pm: Nicci of Fusion dance school will be running a Street Dance Workshop covering basic elements of street styles, super cool for children and adults alike!

2pm: Lola Adodo of New Dance Scopes will be offering a fun and energetic session using her unique style of African dance forms from a contemporary basis, with enjoyable rhythmic Afro influenced music. Expect to go back home smiling widely, still moving and grooving excitedly!

2.45pm – 3.15pm: Schools Performances. Local schools have been working with Dance Artists to create their own dance performances working on the theme of Celebration. 

3.15pm: Rebecca Jayne will host a special Tap workshop that focuses on tap’s American roots, rhythms and repertoires. It will be suitable for everyone whether you’re a complete beginner or have been tapping for years, tap shoes are not essential!

4pm: Phil from HelloHipHop will be providing the freshest Hip Hop workshop to engage, invigorate and inspire the next generation. Featuring for the first time in 2024s Olympic category, he’ll be teaching the basics of the competitive dance we call Breakin’ and show how it can help improve our lives.
