Fuse frequently asked questions

Lichfield Arts are keen to ensure everyone has a great time at Fuse and we aim to make the event as inclusive, safe and enjoyable for all.

With so much to see and do at Fuse it is worth planning ahead to make the most of your time at Fuse.

Here is a handy list of the most commonly asked questions:

What are Fuse opening times?

Friday: 7pm to 10pm

Saturday: 12pm to 10pm

Sunday: 11am to 6pm

Can I camp at Fuse?

Unfortunately camping facilities for the public are not available at Fuse: overnight camping will only be available to stall holders and security staff.

Can I bring my own Fuse Ecocup

Of course! We would love to see them being used again. We do have a new version this year at a cost of £1 that you can reuse throughout the festival and then take home with you – and of course bring back to Fuse next year. Cheers!

Can I bring my own food and drink

You are more than welcome to bring your own food and soft drinks to Fuse (no glass bottles please). We have our own bar for the sale of alcohol – we can’t allow alcohol to be brought on site due to licensing constraints. In any case, to keep Fuse free and sustainable all revenue raised at the bar goes straight back into covering the festival costs – without our bar revenue Fuse simply would not happen!

Is there disabled access to Fuse

Yes. The ground is flat and entrance to tents is all on one level. There will be a raised platform at the back of the larger Evolution marquee for wheelchair users.

How do I find the Fuse site?

Getting to Fuse is easy and we look forward to welcoming you in August where the magic of the festival will leave you with great memories. By Car: Lichfield is less than 20 minutes from the M42/M6/M40 and a short distance from the A38/A5 There will be no parking on site but car parks are available across the city in particular Friary Car Park, WS13 6QE is a multi-story car park within a short walking distance. By Rail: Regular services run from London Euston to Lichfield Trent Valley and from Crewe to Lichfield Trent Valley. There is a regular service from Birmingham New Street to Lichfield City. By Bus: Regular services from Burton, Tamworth, Stafford and Cannock to Lichfield bus/rail interchange.

Is there disabled parking at Fuse?

There are designated disabled car parking spaces in all three of Beacon Park’s car parks. These are on Greenhough Rd (WS13 7AW), Shaw Lane (WS13 7AG) and Bunkers Hill (the closest to the festival site – Lower Sandford St, Lichfield WS13 6RA). The entrances from these car parks are slightly sloped (around 5%).

Can I bring a dog to Fuse?

We know your dogs are part of the family so well behaved dogs are welcome to Fuse. Dogs must always be kept under strict control and on short leads. Always clean up after your pets. Free poop bags are available from the stewards and there will be water bowls on the site. Owners will be responsible for any damage caused by their pets. If your pet does not have a friendly temperament, please don’t bring it!

Can I use a drone?

No. Lichfield District Council prohibits the use of drones in its parks.

Will there be recycling at Fuse?

We aim to cut down on waste at Fuse and would appreciate festival goers taking their own rubbish back home with them. There will be black bins around the site which will be used for all waste – our skip provider will sort the recyclables from it. We have asked our food traders to be mindful of their plastics use and hope that this can be kept to a minimum.

As a not-for-profit festival, Fuse has been a proud initiative of Lichfield Arts since its inception in 2001. What began as a dream to provide free, live music and activities for all has blossomed into a beloved summer tradition that unites our community.

Operated primarily by volunteers, Fuse stands as a remarkable achievement for our small local charity. As part of the diverse events offered by Lichfield Arts throughout the year, Fuse has evolved into one of the largest free community events in Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

Despite the challenges of organising a large-scale, free community event, Lichfield Arts is thrilled to present another exciting lineup of artists and activities this year. Our dedicated team of volunteers continues to invest countless unpaid hours to bring you a weekend filled with live music and arts experiences.

We take pride in keeping Fuse free for everyone – a testament to the commitment of our volunteers. Amidst the logistical hurdles, we eagerly anticipate offering you a diverse selection of performances and activities.

At the core of Fuse Festival is our belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality, impactful, and inclusive arts, regardless of background, postcode, age, or ability. Our focus on access, inclusion, and sustainability drives us to create engaging experiences that inspire, challenge perspectives, and foster social connections within our local community. Fuse remains dedicated to supporting and nurturing both established and emerging national and local talent.
