Fuse 2017 may seem a distant memory now, but looking back what a weekend it was, taking place under the sunniest of skies and with more than 18,000 people joining in the fun. With the 2018 event fast approaching the Fuse team is busy preparing to serve up a veritable feast of entertainment and activities designed to appeal to all age groups – and unbelievably it’s free to enter!
We will be bringing you: two live music stages featuring more than 25 acts covering a wide range of genres; participatory activities such as musical instrument making, art and crafting, poetry, close-up magic workshops, circus skills, sport and fitness challenges, drumming workshops, dance sessions and beatboxing; plus delicious food traders, a festival market and a well-stocked licensed bar to slake your thirst.
Fuse is put on by the charity Lichfield Arts, and will be celebrating its 17th birthday when it takes place within Lichfield’s Beacon Park this year. Although it has grown substantially since it first appeared in 2001 the core values and objective remain the same: to provide an opportunity for everyone to access and engage with a wide variety of music and the arts. Despite funding pressures, Fuse remains a free entry event, something the team remains immensely proud of.
Check back regularly as we update the programme with entertainment, activities and surprises!
